Smallfry: re:no chocolate

It's great to see that someone actually knows that Laura Secord didn't make chocolate! She was actually a Canadian heroine from the War of 1812. However, there's one small part of the story that needs to be cleared up-namely, the fact that she didn't have a cow. This myth was started when a historian recorded Laura's famous walk in the 1830s. He figured her story wasn't romantic enough, so he added the cow for excitement (don't ask me how a cow makes the story more romantic). The fact that Laura walked 36 km (20 miles), with part of the walk consisting of a trek through a swamp and up the Niagara Escarpment, makes the cow hypothesis somewhat impractical. (Just so you don't think I'm some nut, I do have some experience in the area. After working at Fort George for three years and Laura Secord Homestead for one, I have gained a bit of information about Laura and her trek). Otherwise, this is a great site!
