I was rewatching Persuasion and I noticed that during the first walk Anne, the Musgroves and the Captain take, the Musgrove sisters are carrying their hats or bonnets or whatever in their hands, and the rest of the party is bareheaded. Now, I 've always understood that people, specially women, did never venture outside without having their heads covered. Am I wrong?
