I don't know if this question has been dealt with before, but when exactly was Jane born? There seems to exist a letter from her father announcing her birth just before midnight. Which midnight would that be? The one from the 15th to the 16th of December? Or the one from the 16th to the 17th?

This site is probably envied beyond the grave by very many authors who would have been extremely pleased to have something like this devoted to themselves.
