Usually what draws me to this board is research for my fanfic, and then sometimes I get caught in one of the threads here. The lives of the nobility do not interest me all that much, but it does interest me when historical places get mentioned in JA, and since I want my own fanfic to be accurate, I'd better be aware of this sort of thing.

Does anyone know about Dovedale? Did Pemberley really exist?
