MT: Introductions

]'Lastly, that Ladies and Gentlemen coming to town, give orders that their names and places of abode be entered in any of the Pump-room books; and the Master of Ceremonies thus publickly requests the favour of such Ladies and Gentlemen to whom he has not the honour of being personally known, to offer him some favourable occasion of being presented to them, that he may be enabled to show that attention, which is not more his duty than his inclination to observe.'

So it sounds as if Mrs. Allen has fallen down on the job in not presenting herself to Mr. King. Why, I wonder? She has been to Bath before, she knows the ropes, doesn't she? Or did she rely upon the mysterius Skinners the last time? ;-)

Catherine met Henry through an introduction from Mr. King.

"The master of the ceremonies introduced to her a very gentlemanlike young man as a partner; - his name was Tilney."

Would Henry have asked for the introduction, or would Mr King hae taken it upon himself? And how did he do that if he didn't already know Catherine's name?
