] I forgot I had a little copy of Northanger Abbey, illustrated by Hugh Thomson. I found it today, and discovered that Thomson illustrated Catherine's train in the process of being pinned up and later, in its final 'pinned' position. Here's a scan:

I believe it is! Thomson's interpretation is so much sweeter than Janes!
