...it seems like so many characters are not seeking an equal, but a better-than-equal match...like Caroline going for Darcy. He doesn't need her dowry, but she would LOVE his estate and connections (being the daughter of a man who got his fortune by trade). I can't see her at all going for Col. Fitzwilliam.

It's interesting to me that Darcy was thinking of Mr. Bingley for his sister, because he didn't have nearly the connections and gnereational consequence of the Darcys....what do you think?
