St. James
In Response To: St James ()

St. James was the King's palace in London, where he conducted official business and held his levees until he was permanently incapacitated in 1811. Sir William probably was received once or twice at a levee here, and boasts of it ever after.

The Queen's palace was Buckingham Palace, purchased shortly after her marriage to George III. Her drawing rooms were held at Buckingham, and her children raised here.
