] So- what I am saying is- as she put it-life is for living, and there is a time to grieve but also a time to be happy and rejoice- otherwise the ememy ,whoever they may be,has won.
Those of us in Europe, and perhaps especially the UK who have had to live with the threat or with the real consequences of terrorism for some time past will agree, I'm sure, that the very best reply to the men of violence, of whatever denomination, is to send a clear message that they haven't cowed you into hiding, or broken your spirit.This is best achieved by determinedly carrying on with life as nearly normally as possible. So open the stores and schools and theatres, play your sporting fixtures, let the kids have their birthday parties and let THEM know;
"It's business as usual"!
