'weskit' & 'waistcoat'
In Response To: Flannel waistcoat ()

] A waistcoat (prounced more like "weskit")

When referring to the usually sleeveless garment worn over the shirt in the 18th century, the word is pronounced 'weskit'; for the 19th c. version, one says 'waistcoat'and the equivalent piece of attire in the 20th c. is called a 'vest', at least in North America.
