] (Btw, it was a lot easier to abolish pennage, turbery and estover through the enclosure acts, since those were the property rights of poor people with neither votes nor influence).
] These rights continued to exist in some places, because they were not always eradicable. I posessed them myself unitl 1988. But I digress.
can i just say oen thing? Please explain waht these things are Pennage and turbery? I have nver heard of them and I do know a little history!!
one more thing adn this is re JA. I feel that since she was a parson's daughter, she had the attitude to the cloth that while the chruch and hte office of priest was to be respected, she knew far too many clerics not to know htat htey were on average no better and no worse than other men. her clerics are a mix of good and poor, Edmund, Edward Henry Tilney, are all decnet young men but Elton for example is selfish and weak thoguh not a bad man> Mr Collins is just a fool though again he is not a bad man.
