Coat of Arms
In Response To: "A Peerage for the People" ()

] Earl Poulett: "His Lordship's character may be summed up
> in three words -- he is a fox-hunting Tory."

ROTFLMAO! Getting a very funny mental image of this!

] Earl of Jersey: "He is a man of but feeble abilities,
> but what he lacks in power, his lady makes up for in
> intrigue. The Countess of Jersey has long been before the
> public as a leadereither in fashion or politics."

Ooh! I remember that she was real bat in a book I read. She was considered dangerous by most people about the court. It was in Ladies in Waiting and the author's last name is Somerset.

One thing I wanted to ask- would Jane Austen's family have a coat of arms? That is the same as heraldic arms, correct? Anyway, I thought her father's family was from prosperous tradesmaen. JA's mother has coat of arms in her background from the Duke of Chandos, maybe?
