Thanks - still a mystery!
In Response To: The Peerage ()

] (The Peerage) mentions Darcys, Vernons, Wentworths, Middletons, Willoughbys, etc.

] There's an Elizabeth Coniers married to a THomas Darcy, lord Darcy, so I guess she became Elizabeth Darcy.

The Peerage was, I believe a constant source of inspiration to JA for naming, although my belief is that JA used the peerage in conjunction with her own family lines - my particular interest - to name her heroes, heroines and anti-heroes accordingly.

This Elizabeth Darcy, however, is not Elizabeth Darcy (nee Wentworth) and her Darcy husband was a Roger, rather than a Thomas. Could be an interesting connection though if the Coniers or Thomas Darcy are related to JA's family in some way. Couldn't find an Internet listing for Coniers/Darcy. Any idea of birth or death dates or other family names?
