Ardently wishing to add to the confusion
In Response To: Draft Horses? ()
] ] I thought the Generic term was 'Draft Horse', or is this an American term?
Is this then the same draft as in Beast of draught ??
BTW in Sweden the big working horses are called Ardennes horses
(Ardennerhästar :))were imported from Belgium starting around 1870, weight 600-900kg,said to be muscular, calm and easy to drive.
Packages were still delivered by a few remaining carriages and horses during my childhood in Stockholm. My favourite was an Ardennes by the name of Star. sigh.
