Oklahoma State University would be glad of any photographs that either

you or perhaps some friend in Sweden could send them of the Swedish Ardennes (or any other of the other north European branches of the Ardennes breed). Perhaps members of the Scandinavian Jane Austen society could send such photos--when they have recovered from laughing themselves half to death over the Mr Collins in the Swedish opera. (The Stratford Mr Collins--and therefore likely the Chicago Mr Collins--were also huge favourites of the audience. Was Collins also delightful in Australia?)

] ] I thought the Generic term was 'Draft Horse', or is this an American term?
] Is this then the same draft as in Beast of draught ??
] BTW in Sweden the big working horses are called Ardennes horses
] (Ardennerhästar :))were imported from Belgium starting around 1870, weight 600-900kg,said to be muscular, calm and easy to drive.
] Packages were still delivered by a few remaining carriages and horses during my childhood in Stockholm. My favourite was an Ardennes by the name of Star. sigh.
