See this <a href=\"https:\/\/pemberley.com\/janeinfo\/pptopics.html#cardgame\">link<\/a> at\nthe JA Info Site describing other card games of our period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Chapter 16 there is a mention of Lydia winning and losing \u2018fish\u2019 during\nthe game of lottery tickets. Fish are the Regency equivalent of a modern day\npoker chip. Our experts guess that\nHenry Crawford had a fantastic set, as did Willoughby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also, ladies could save up the fish won at cards and the little mother of pearl\nfish could be strung into jewelery.
