Robert D'Arcy was fourth and last Earl of Holdernesse (1718-1778).The previous D'Arcys got themselves into trouble by backing the Acadians in what was to become Eastern Canada. I think that was in the 1740's...I'll have to check with the Canadian Dict. of Biography.
