] I would love ideas. I really would like to make a dress, but I don't really know where to start. The whole project seems a bit daunting. I guess it would have been easier in JA's time when they had so much free time to do it (not to mention the skills to do it)!

It is not at all difficult! These dresses are very simple to make. Actually, that's how I learned to sew :-).

It takes me about one week to make a dress, but I also go to work and I have children, a husband and a house to take care of in between. Of course, it would have taken longer if I didn't use a sewing machine.
