] He doesn't seem to have been particularly active in the firm, and he bails out at seven years (apparently the standard time frame for partnerships in those days.) For much of those years he waas away, and couldn't do much, anyway. I suppose we could speculate that it was a way of investing this, and subsequent, prize money.
