It depends

] While re-reading the part in P&P about Georgiana's aborted elopement, the question of her 30,000 pounds came to my mind. At 15, would a girl have control over her fortune such that she could elope with whomever she wanted and still claim her money? Or if her guardian had been inclined to do so, could he have refused to give her her money because he disapproved of her marriage? I would assume that her father could have cut her off, but did guardians have the same ability?

A father is merely a type legal guardian. Darcy is just the same only he shares the duty with Col. Fitzwilliam. Together they would have all the same duties and abilities of a father.

It is a legal issue. It depends on how the money is left to her. Sometimes it will be all hers once she is of age. Others may include strings. We don't know how Georgiana is left her money. But it was likely her mother's fortune (not sure if that makes it more likely to have fewer strings).

However the implication of your questions is that Darcy is essentially willing to break Georgiana and allow her and Wickham to live in poverty. I would think it more likely that appearances would be kept up and Georgiana would get her money. Either way it is a bad situation.
