I think you are quite correct, Kay.

What particularly interested me was that JA, who is so sharp about the foibles of her own class at all levels, still==like the people in your family pictures--isn't aware of certain classes of people as being interesting or even there. I am sure I am equally blind to many people I run across in my own life. The only thing that makes it puzzling is that JA is so sharp about the people who do interest her. There, I think, she probably surpasses most of us.
