I was just wondering what was appropriate back in JA's time when it came to your beau or future husband? Almost everyone seemed very chaste and didn't even hug the person let alone kiss the person they were to marry. Was anything other than taking a man's arm to walk and kissing a lady's hand allowed? What were the rules of the day?

I just find it very hard to understand how you could fall in love and marry someone and maybe never have kissed them...
