that it is impossible to fall in love without any physical contact? I wouls not have thought so, at least, I hope it is not so or I shall be very depressed as, being a muslim, any physical contact before marriage is forbidden for me.
Sorry if this isn't really relating to Jane Austen at, well, not directly enough, but i'd be grateful for an answer.

oh yes, also, maybe Jane Austen didn't write about it explicitly as either it didn't go on (consider Mr.Knightley proposing, nothing like that happens there - she decribes him taking emmas hand etc so it seems odd that would leave any kissing out) or it was not considered as something to be openly talked of?
