If Darcy really looked as CE Brock portrayed him I would consider him very 'cheesy' and I fail to see what attractions there could be in him to Elizabeth later on. Elizabeth looks very 'demure' and attractive by comparison.

Did you notice those 'court shoes'? - low-heeled slippers used for formal indoor wear and suitable for dancing, much the same as those worn by ladies. Of course, for everday outdoor wear men would have worn knee-length boots or stronger shoes.

The 'tail coats' were designed so that they could be worn on the back of a horse, the 'tails' falling either side of the horse's flanks.

We are, of course, talking about the costume of the 'wealthy' classes - it would be nice to find out how the poorer people dressed...
