] These boats are much smaller than a Sloop, which was what Wentworth commanded. Gunboats were mainly used close to shore, in harbours, or large rivers. In addition, the "Asp" in the table was sold in 1803, before "the year six".

Yes, I could see it was nothing to do with the Asp in Persuasion, but it made me wonder what exactly it was. Thank you very much for the information.
