I have no chance of her in the collection of Sir Joshua Reynold's Paintings which is now showing in Pall Mall, & which we are also to visit.-

I wonder why JA was so sure that she wouldn't find Mrs Darcy at the Reynolds exhibit? Could it possibly be that she didn't like him and his works? Or did she know in advance that there would be no portraits of a lady of similar age and status as Mrs D? That's a fascinating thought.....to me, anyway!
